Choose Your RideYou will meet at a centrally located meeting point and head straight to our garage to receive an introduction and choose one of our Vespas. Then the tour leader will fit each guest with a helmet and give some basic instructions and safety information. Once everybody is feeling a little more confident, it’s time to bite the bullet and get out there!
Panoramic ViewsYou will set off (slowly at first) and head for the freedom of the hills, following the tour leader along the riverside and a tree-lined avenue to a famous viewpoint. From here, you’ll be able to look out and enjoy the incredible panoramic views – and take plenty of snaps to show off to your friends once you return home. Gabriel and all the team kept us safe, informed and entertained all afternoon. The. Route, the pause for explanation, the stops on the way, and of course the delicious meal at their cookery school all added up to a very memorable experience. Gabriel was fun, helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Massimo the mechanic showed us true Italian driving! Seeing the whole fleet at the garage was a treat.

Chris and Gabe with Walk About Tours made us feel comfortable and safe on our first ever Vespa Ride! I was a bit reluctant at first, but excited to hop on my bright red Vespa to tour the Tuscan countryside! Our guides were excellent and gave expert guidance as well as tid bits about the local lore. We were guided through the winding backroads of a charming suburb of Florence, amid prime real estate, vineyards and olive groves overlooking the beginning of the Chianti region of Tuscany. Chris was funny, engaging and knowledgeable, and led us on a delightful journey to a hilltop family farm to table restaurant overlooking a green valley, for a delicious light taste of Local Tuscan fare before ending our tour. Highly recommend for those seeking an off the beaten path adventure, with a bit of a thrill! Not for the faint of heart! (The Vespas are heavy and can do damage, Italian drivers are fast!) But our guides, Chis, Gabe and Alex had our backs the whole way and kept us safe!)

Definitely! If you would prefer an alternative to the menu we have chosen, please tell your tour leader and he/she will telephone ahead to arrange it.
A valid car licence is sufficient and you must be at least 18 years of age.
You don't have to have ridden a motorbike before but it would be an advantage.
Driving in Italy can be a little different, so just like driving anywhere in the world you must be alert and vigilant and follow the tour leader's instructions.
If riders get separated from the tour leader, for example at traffic lights, the tour leader will wait in the first safe place until all the Vespas are together again.
Yes! Two people can share a Vespa and take it in turns to drive, or one can drive and the second person can simply enjoy the ride.
Unfortunately we cannot allow children to ride as passengers on the Vespas. Minimum age to be on the tour is 18.
Remember to bring something waterproof if there is a chance of rain! Don't wear flip flops or high heels if you are new to riding the Vespa, flat sensible shoes will be easier.
You must bring your driving licence. Make sure you bring your camera!
We do not organise hotel pick-ups for difficulties with parking and scheduling, but our meeting in front in Piazza dei Cavalleggeri is very central and should be easy to get to. We are just in front of the Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library) from which many hotels are located within easy walking distance of. Otherwise a taxi (you could ask your hotel to book it for you) would be the fastest option, dropping you off right at the entrance of the Biblioteca Nazionale (National Library).
