The Full Cinque Terre Experience

From Manarola's panoramic trails to Vernazza's ocean swim, Monterosso's artisan shops and a boat ride into Riomaggiore — all five villages in one private day.

Depart FlorenceYour guide will meet you at your accommodation for an 8.00am departure from Florence. Your ​Cinque Terre private tour​ will begin with a comfortable air-conditioned drive, and you’ll enter the National Park at the charming village of Manarola. Your guide will lead you on a panoramic walk to take in the lush vineyards and pastel-coloured buildings that define the town. Then it’s all aboard the train to Corniglia, where you’ll begin your hike. We will take care of everything so there’s no need to worry about getting lost or buying train tickets. All you need to do is relax and prepare yourself for those magical views.
Get to Know CornigliaCorniglia is the first place you’ll get a chance to put your walking boots into action as you’ll need to traverse the 380 steps that take you from the station to the centre of the village. The rewards far outweigh the effort, though, and you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping vistas over the ocean and the surrounding hillsides. Here we'll organise for you to tuck into a delicious two-course meal at a lovely family-run restaurant.
Visiting VernazzaOnce your lunch has gone down it’s time for those who opt for the hiking, to begin your adventure in earnest, and you’ll set off on the four-mile hike along the ancient cliffside mule trails that link the five towns of the region. Upon reaching Vernazza you’ll have some free time to explore what is often considered the most characteristic and picturesque of all the villages. Have a swim in the ocean, relax in a bar, or just sit in a cafe where you can watch the people go by and think about the next part of the walk - it’s up to you!
Remember, if you do want to take the opportunity to go for a swim, make sure you pack a towel and suitable clothing so you’re not doing the rest of the trip in wet clothes.
Shopping and Wine Tasting in MonterossoOnce you leave Vernazza, you’ll hop back on the train for the short ride to the next village, Monterosso, which is known for its quirky artisan shops and beautiful beach. Your guide will give you the option to do some local wine tasting, check out the souvenir shops at leisure or just lie back and take in some sun on the golden sands.
A Scenic Boat RideAs long as weather permits, the next thing on the agenda is a fabulous boat ride along the stunning coastline to the last village, the beautiful Riomaggiore. You’ll have to have your camera at the ready at all times, because this very different view of the rugged cliffs and mountainous backdrop is absolutely breathtaking.
Back to FlorenceFrom Riomaggiore it’s just a quick trip on the train to La Spezia, where your air-conditioned vehicle will be ready and waiting to take you and your companions back to Florence.

One of the top highlights of our trip to Italy! Ado and Igor picked us up right on time and Ado was our guide for the day. He was TREMENDOUS and we let him organize the day the best way he thought. His knowledge on every subject we asked about, and some we didn't, was unbelievable! Info on the the regions, wine, food, plants, history, tips & tricks, etc... I'm not sure how he kept his energy level up the whole time. He even got us to try our first sardine and then we ordered a second one it was so good. LOL. We opted to do the shorter 2 mile hike and it was well worth it, but it does get difficult in spots. We spent almost 13 hours in total with Ado and it went by so fast that we wish we could do it again! Thank you so much for spending your day, sharing your knowledge and love of Cinque Terre and Italy with us. Bryan & Amber
